Research Interests:

Masters was on the relation between client and counsellor in cross-counselling. My PhD is based on a comparative study between Jordan and Pakistan in regards to honour killings, the main interest in honour killings and violence against women.

Profile:

My interest in the PhD research topic started in 2004 when I spent some time in Palestinian refugee camps in Jordan and I was exposed to women issues, and the abuse which they have suffered.  Among these issues were rape, domestic violence and honour killings.  I also worked as a trauma counsellor at ASETTS (Association for Assisting Torture and Trauma Survivors) where by I worked with refugees who suffered torture and trauma, and this is when I was doing my Masters in cross-cultural couselling.  I am also receiving a scholarship from UWA (UPA).

Affiliations:

Was a member of INJAZ in Jordan which means achievement, empowers young refugees to achieve their goals and ambitions.  I was working in the camps doing group counselling and seminars.
